Lord Blunkett Widening Access Award

Students

At De Broc School of Business we believe it’s important to support future business leaders and give them the opportunity to achieve their career ambitions. 

The Lord Blunkett Widening Access Award aims to support students whose circumstances may prevent them from completing a business course and entering the world of business. We will offer these awards to five students (attending London Bloomsbury in September 2017) who will each receive £1,000 off the cost of their course fees.

Entry Criteria

3 year undergraduate course at London Bloomsbury

  • BBC at A-Level

4 year undergraduate course at London Bloomsbury

  • 32 UCAS points from 1 A-Level
  • or 40 UCAS points from 2 A-Levels
Eligibility to Lord Blunkett Widening Access Award

To be eligible for consideration for the Lord Blunkett Widening Access Award you must have:

  • applied for an undergraduate course beginning in September 2017 at London Bloomsbury, and must have received an offer to study at De Broc School of Business

  • applied for the award by 5 September 2017 and have been invited to complete the online assessment, which you must have submitted by 8 September 2017

  • had a household income of less than £25,000 in the tax year 2015/ 2016

How it works
  • Register your interest by emailing scholarships@debroc.ac.uk by 5 September 2017

  • You will need to have applied to study an undergraduate course at London Bloomsbury and have received an offer to study in September 2017

  • Complete the online assessment by 8 September 2017

  • Award winners will be notified by 11 September 2017
Personal Information

As part of the application process you'll need to provide the following personal information:

  • Full name

  • Confirmation of grades obtained (or expect to be awarded)
    - If you’ve applied to study a three year course: BBB at A-Level or equivalent
    - If you’ve applied to study a four year course: 32 UCAS points from 1 A-Level
      or 40 UCAS points from 2 A-levels, or equivalent

  • Household income during the tax year 2015/2016

  • Any challenges or exceptional circumstances that you may be facing that would not allow you to study with us

Application deadline: 5 September 2017

Online Assessment completed by: 8 September 2017

Award winners notified by: 11 September 2017

The Online Assessment

Consisting of 20 multiple choice questions, you will have 30 minutes to complete the online assessment. Before you begin make sure that you are sitting comfortably and can focus on the assessment without any interruption. You’ll only have one chance to complete it, you won’t be able to pause it or leave the page and come back again later.
